The Importance of Supporting the WSPC Brick Campaign

Raising Funds for Much-Needed Amenities at WSPC Pickleball Court Complex

The Westside Pickleball Club (WSPC) is embarking on an exciting fundraising campaign to enhance their new pickleball court complex. With the construction budget set by the city not including several essential amenities, the WSPC has taken the initiative to raise funds independently. The addition of benches, tables, bleachers, and shade structures will greatly enhance the playing experience for all members and visitors.

By purchasing an engraved brick, you have the opportunity to become a part of the legacy of this remarkable project while also making a generous contribution. The bricks will serve as a lasting tribute to those who have supported the WSPC in their endeavor to create a top-notch pickleball facility. Each brick will serve as a reminder of the commitment and passion of the pickleball community in building a better future for the sport.

The WSPC is dedicated to not only creating outstanding infrastructure but also organizing various events and tournaments to foster a strong sense of camaraderie among players. Two exciting events on the calendar are the “Rally in the Valley” tournament in Salida, Colorado, from September 8-10 and the “Sopris Showdown” pickleball tournament in Carbondale from September 22-24. These events promise intense competition and the opportunity to showcase skills on a larger stage.

The club urges its members to mark their calendars and participate in these upcoming events. Further details will be shared via email or can be found at the bottom of this article in the club calendar. Being part of these events not only provides an opportunity for personal growth and development but also strengthens the bond of the pickleball community.

The Lincoln Park and Pine Ridge round robins are regular fixtures in the club’s schedule. The Lincoln Park round robins take place every Wednesday and Thursday from 7-10 a.m., catering to skill levels 3.5 and under on Wednesdays and skill levels 3.5 and above on Thursdays. These round robins are free and open to the public, showcasing the inclusivity and outreach efforts of the WSPC. Volunteers play a crucial role in organizing and managing these events. Meanwhile, the Pine Ridge round robins run from 7-10 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, weather permitting. These events cater to skill level 3.5 and lower and are also free for the public to attend. The Pine Ridge courts, located at 359 Ridges Blvd in GJ, offer a fantastic opportunity for players to improve their skills while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

The WSPC takes pride in being inclusive and welcoming to all. Currently in its 8th year, the club boasts a membership of 700 and continues to grow. Becoming a member of the WSPC not only allows you access to their facilities but also grants you the opportunity to be part of a vibrant and active club. Membership brings numerous benefits, including access to various social events, discounted rates for tournaments, and the chance to build lasting friendships within the pickleball community.

Supporting the WSPC Brick Campaign is not just a financial investment; it is an investment in the future of pickleball. By contributing to the construction of necessary amenities, you are directly assisting in the development and growth of the sport. Your generosity will ensure that future generations can enjoy the sport in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
